Carl Linnaeus Hammarby, south of Uppsala, was his summer residence. Here he had his own garden, a complement to the Uppsala University Botanical Garden in the city. Only one of the trees he planted here is still alive. It is an apple tree (Malus baccata) – to the right – grown from seed collected in Siberia. It probably dates back to the 1760's.
